Awesome Job!!

I just wanted to say that y'all did a fantastic job at the basketball game tonight! I heard lots of compliments on the performance. I'm very proud of you, and can't wait for February 9th to debut Prince! Thanks for all your hard work this week - have a great weekend!

Friday - UPDATE

Friday morning:

8:00 am - Be here if you are performing Friday night. We will go to the gym to practice.
8:35 am - Everyone in K-rette room (we will practice jazz)

Friday evening: B-ball game vs. Lake Travis

6:15 pm - Be in K-rette room
6:30 pm - Be ready, we will run through the routine and make sure everyone is pinned
6:40 pm - Go to gym for performance!

Game starts @ 7:00 - encourage family and friends to buy bracelet for admission to the game. Bracelets need to be purchased in advance!

After halftime - we will get our things out of the dance room and you will be free to watch the game or go home!

A few reminders for this week...

If you are in the hip hop routine - please have all parts of your costume in class on Thursday morning!

Solo fees are due by Friday - don't forget!

Make sure you are selling tickets and promoting the Applebee's Pancake Breakfast!!

Reminders

Great job at the basketball game last night! Remember we are performing the contest hip hop routine NEXT FRIDAY (January 29) at the boys b-ball game... Please make sure you have your costumes ready for the game!!

The last day I will approve solos for the Temple contest is Monday, January 25. Once approved, you will need to pay your entry fee ($75) to the cashier by Friday, January 29. Let me know if you have questions about solos!

I will be handing out a calendar by Friday morning detailing practices, basketball games, and an upcoming fundraiser.

We will be hosting a pancake breakfast at Applebee's on February 13 from 8 - 10 am. Tickets will be $6 each - the girls will be required to sell tickets for this breakfast. The more tickets we sell, the more money we will have for spring show :) You will receive your tickets in the next few days.

Aussies - Go to your 1st period from last semester tomorrow (Tuesday) morning! They will release you with your new schedules, and then you come to the Kangarette room. You will not practice tomorrow morning!

Basketball game - Tuesday, January 19

Kangarettes will perform at the Varsity Basketball Game on Tuesday, January 19. The game starts at 7:00. Girls need to be in the K-rette room at 6:15 to get ready for the game. We will wear KHS tops, V-fronts, black socks, and black jazz shoes. Please make sure you have these items! If you need a KHS shirt, I will get you one on Tuesday morning (remind me please!). You will be able to leave after the halftime performance. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Hip Hop costume

Kangarettes will be performing their Contest Hip Hop routine at a basketball game on Friday, January 29. The following items will make up the costume for this routine:

* Black hot shorts (we have these already)
Black sports bra
Gray sweat pants w/ elastic at bottom
Black low-top Converse shoes (or comparable brand)
Tanks tops - solid color, any style as long as its not "revealing"

Colors for tanks (bright colors)...

• Green - Mariah, Surena, Chloe
• Pink - Danyelle, Tonee, Spencer, Tye
• Blue - Rachel, Crissa, Kylee
  

Monday Morning

Tomorrow (Monday 1/11/10) we will only practice during 1st period! I apologize for the change. My grandfather is very sick and I am going to see him today in Dallas - I should be at practice in the morning - but in case something changes I don't want you guys getting up to school early and me not be able to be there. See you tomorrow.

Tuesday

* Kangarettes - practice @ 8:10 (be here @ 8:00)... this will be a long practice due to exam schedule!

* Aussies - practice after school 4:15 - 5:30 (this will be our only practice this week... take the opportunity to study for your exams)

Kangarettes.... Wednesday and Thursday we will NOT practice or meet in 1st period due to the schedule. STUDY for your exams!!! There is no school on Friday... have a nice, long weekend.

K-rettes Wednesday

Wednesday morning practice will start at 8:10... be here by 8:00!

Remember - Thursday & Friday practice is during class ONLY - be here @ 8:35 ready to practice "Work" for the first basketball game (Tuesday 1/19/10).
