I wanted to leave you all with a little bit of information about the spring before we break for the holiday. I passed out 2 copies of the January/February calendar this morning. This calendar has practices, basketball games, and contest dates on it.
Solo/Duet Information
- Solos & Duets must be approved by Friday, January 14th
- Fees must be paid to the cashier (after approval) by Thursday, January 20th
- You only have to pay for the first contest by January 20th, I will have a later date in February for when fees are due for the second contest
- Solo fees - $75/contest
- Duet fees - $120/contest
- Solo/duet music must be appropriate; you must also provide a quality "cut" version
- Remember you must receive a Division I on your Solo/Duet in order to perform it at spring show
Solos: Minimum 90 seconds/Maximum 2 minutes. If the solo routine exceeds 2 minutes and 15 seconds. soloists will be ineligible for solo finals.
Ensemble/DUET Time Limits:
2 1/2 minute time limit for ensembles that are divided into duets (2 performers), small (3 to 5 performers), medium (6-12 performers), or large (13-20 performers) ensembles. Any routine over 2:45 will be penalized. **Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding solo/duet information!!
The spring semester will be very busy and exciting for the Kangarettes!! We will be EXTREMELY busy as soon as we return in January, so be prepared to work and focus at practices everyday. Being here and being ON TIME will make a big difference in our preparation for contest season. I'm really looking forward to contest season, we are going to ROCK :)
